NEET Counselling 2023

What is free exit? What is the exit with forfeiture?

Free Exit (only for Round 1):

If a candidate is assigned a seat in the first round of seat allotment but decides not to join or report to the assigned college, they will not be penalized. This means that their security deposit will not be forfeited, and they will remain eligible for further rounds of seat allotment. They can participate in subsequent rounds and have the opportunity to be allotted a different seat.

Exit with Forfeiture:

In the second round of seat allotment, if a candidate is offered a seat but chooses not to accept it, they can still opt to exit with forfeiture. By doing so, they will lose the security amount they deposited during the counseling process. This option allows candidates to decline the offered seat, but they will need to forfeit the security deposit within the specified period.

Joining Allotted Seat in the Second Round:

Candidates who choose to join and report to the allotted seat in the second round will not be allowed to resign or surrender their seats. Once they have accepted the seat and completed the reporting process, they are bound to the allotted college and course.

Additionally, they will not be permitted to participate in state counseling, indicating that they cannot seek admission to other colleges through state-level counseling procedures.

It’s important for candidates to carefully consider their choices and decisions during the seat allotment process and comply with the rules and regulations set by the counseling authority.
