How Much Score Is Important In The NEET For An MBBS Abroad

Score Is Important In The NEET to get admission in India but to study MBBS abroad only a qualifying score is important in the NEET examination is sufficient. National Testing Agency has clearly prescribed the NEET eligibility criteria in accordance with the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2018. NEET is conducted for national wide MBBS seat allotment on the basis of the ranks and the reservation categories of the medical aspirants.

The score is important in the NEET  for enrolment in Indian medical colleges including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and VETERINARY courses depends on the highest marks obtained and the number of candidates in between including their +2 marks as well as their reservation category. Eligibility Criteria for MBBS abroad

  1. Students must have completed +2 or 12th standard from a regular board.
  2. Students that studied under open board or correspondence classes are not eligible to study MBBS abroad.
  3. The student 12th should have Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects.
  4. For General category students +2 / Intermediate with 50% of total PCB marks.
  5. For SC/ST/OBC category students must have an aggregate of 40% or above in PCB.
  6. English should also be a compulsory subject.
  7. The student must be 17 years or above age as of 31st December of the year in which the student seeking admission.

Age limitation for MBBS abroad

The Honorable Supreme Court of India under Writ Petition (Civil)-99/2017 dt: 31-03-2017 has announced that the candidates that are above the age of 25 years may apply for NEET-2020 examination on provisional grounds. The upper age limit of 25 years as prescribed under the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997 vide amendment dated 22.01.2018, was challenged and the verdict of Supreme Court vide interim order dt: 29-11-2018, candidates who are 25 years and above were provisionally permitted to appear in NEET-UG subject to the final outcome of the said matters.

Minimum marks required in NEET for MBBS abroad

The percentile score in order to qualify NEET depends on the highest marks obtained in that particular year and based on that the cut-off marks percentile varies every year. But we can have approximate cut-off marks for every category.

  • General (UR) PwD—115-125 marks
  • SC/ST/OBC—90-100 marks
  • SC/ST/OBC—PWD—90-100 marks

Does everyone need to qualify NEET for studying MBBS abroad?

NO. As per the new rules announced by MCI, NEET qualifying is a must to study MBBS abroad and to be eligible to sit for the Screening test which is a must to practice medicine in India. But for all the candidates who are willing to practice outside India NEET eligibility is not required.

NEET 2020 Qualifying marks to study MBBS abroad

NEET qualifying marks depend on the highest marks obtained in that particular NEET examination and the cutoff marks also depend on similar criteria. Once NTA announces the NEET results it simultaneously announces the cut-off marks as well as minimum qualifying marks for each category. NTA on NEET cut off marks

Before announcing the NEET examination results even the NAT could not get clarity on the cutoff and qualifying marks for that particular year. NTA announced that NEET-2020 cut-off marks might increase to 15% than the 2019 year’s cutoff marks and the same might apply to qualifying marks also.
