Essential Information to consider NMC/MCI Approved Medical Colleges in Philippines
- MBBS course in Philippines is known as BS-MD program
- Philippines follows a US-based Education pattern instead of British based curriculum, where course duration depends on the Credits systems instead of the duration in Years.
- MBBS in Philippines is valid globally and recognized by all the global agencies and also by MCI.
- The total MBBS course duration including the final year Internship is of 5 years at Southwestern University.
- Internship in Philippines is recognized and valid in India, and the students once passed the FMGE/NEXT exam can directly get the License Number without any Compulsory Internship.
- There is no Compulsory Language Test to be passed like in other countries MBBS courses in Philippines.
- The disease pattern is 80% similar to the Indian disease pattern and is very useful while practicing later in India.
- NMAT qualifying is compulsory for Philippino’s not for any foreign students, as it is like NEET in India. It is required for the Philippine students to qualify as it is compulsory to appear for the License Exam of Philippines.
- NMAT attempting is a must for any foreign student but qualification is not required for any Indian student, but one or two colleges demand 40 percentile of NMAT to filter the students. But as per the CHED/MCI/NMC norms, NMAT percentile is not compulsory for any Indian / other countries foreign students to promote into MD.
